edit Magazine Cover Images

OK.... so I had photoshoots throughout the day and here are some teaser's for y'all. For a few different reasons I decided on the subject / model to be a University tutor - which links into the whole inspiration aspect of the magazine. But for future issues, the front cover would or could be portrait photography of any contributor to the magazine.

So many thanks to Alan Heighton and Tash Willcocks for being great sports and beautiful models. I have just randomly picked a shot of each model, and the debate of the final images will begin on Thursday 24th.

edit Magazine Cover

Photoshoots will be taking place throughout the day of Monday 21st April to create a full bleed front / back cover for my magazine. Its exciting times..... let's hope all goes well....

miniBreaks

As an extra project at University - all students were given the chance to re-brand the company, miniBreaks. Students were to come up with initial ideas which would then be reviewed by the big guys at miniBreaks.....And they chose me! wahaay! I now have a meeting with the Managing Director and the other big boys this coming Monday. A great opportunity to re-brand an already big company that is growing very quickly.

Have a look at their current existing brand....

edit magazine logo

OK so after deciding my new magazine is going to be called edit, I have developed ideas and come up with this logo. The concept is relating web to print, as this magazine will be doing. Therefore the bitmap font has been used, and don't worry....it's not going to be bitmap fonts throughout the magazine! The square has been created from the grid system I am using in the magazine and the extended line throughout the edit logotype will continue through the back page of the magazine. This line represents a minus sign to link in with the edit theme - edit magazine will be a magazine where creatives submit work and the work submitted will be edited down to make a magazine.

Visual Arts Course

Myself and fellow student Tom Myers are to create a hybrid catalogue for the Visual Arts course at Salford University. A brief at Uni undertaken by graphic design third years was to create a catalogue for the Visual Arts end of year show. My pitch was successful aswell with Toms, so now we are creating a hybrid catalogue.

Tom's front cover imagery will be used in my catalogue format and layout along with the website designs I created. As I will work on the catalogue and web design, Tom will be producing an invitation to the show, and promotional posters.

Visual Practice Initial Test Video

It's not finished yet but my visual practice video is getting there, and with about 4 weeks to go I am well on track. My main deliverable will be a book but I am also producing a video, and website flats. Like I say its not finished so any feedback would be appreciated and taken into consideration while I am still editing.

Visual Practice

A open brief at university to visually represent "relationship". I decided to create a fun brief around the relationship between human form and typographic form. The typgraphic grid would be represented by the contiboard box in which the models would form the alphabet in. I will be making a photographic book, video and website flats.

Final Major Project

For my final major project at University I am going to create a magazine that will hopefully get printed, and have a website. The magazine will feature existing students graduates and professional in the design industry. This magazine will give students exposure while also showcasing current talent from all over England and maybe abroad. I am in very early stages of this project but I already have some super talented people involved.......to be continued.

Horizon-Media

I created his new website for Horizon-Media which needed to be different. The two page website tells the user everything they need to know. The streaming video adds to the viewers experience. www.horizon-media.org

Hacienda / Sankeys

Working alongside Subvert Magazine, myself and 2 friends collected footage of the Hacienda celebration night at Sankeys, Manchester. The special event included top DJ's including Peter Hook who also brought Rowetta with him to perform a couple of songs. The long night was full of passion and energy.
